Our heritage

A family, a legacy

Built on fit, fabric, and the conviction that clothing should be worthy of the person wearing it.

  1. 1953

Brunssum becomes home to the headquarters of NATO Allied Joint Forces Command, and with it an international clientele that expects quality, service and the perfect fit.

  2. 1969

At 22, master tailor Wim Possen opens the first Possen showroom in Brunssum.

  3. 1999

Bas Possen takes over, and Possen moves exclusively to custom-made garments.

Tailoring tools: scissors, a tape measure and buttons
  4. 2000

A world first in fashion: 2D and 3D body scanners for in-store measurements.

  5. 2012

    The launch of a world-first, high-quality online-only custom-made menswear label.

  6. Today

Custom-made online and in the showroom, continuing a family tradition of fit and craftsmanship.

Know what to wear

Finding the right piece for an occasion, or knowing which suit or coat to pick, can be difficult. Our guides tell you exactly what to pick, and when.

Sustainability

Made to order, made to last

Since 1999 everything we make is made to order: cut for one person and made to last for years. Fashion that is less cyclical, more transparent and personal.

  • Production

Made to order and cut on demand, so nothing is overproduced: designed to be worn, and re-worn.

  • Material

We aim for natural, renewable fibres, produced as fairly as possible, moving towards certified fibres and away from synthetics.

  • Transportation

Semi-finished garments and trimmings travel by train or sea rather than by air freight.

  • Partnership

Ateliers and mills chosen for their pattern and energy efficiency, with working conditions that are safe and humane.

  • Packaging

Packaging only when it is needed, without plastic, or recycled where there is no alternative.

A little know-how goes a long way: wash less and air more, and have a tear repaired as soon as it appears, or simply drop it off with us.
