ABOUT HAROLD HAMERSMA
Award-winning wine writer and journalist
We proudly present our fourth POSSEN hero; the charming and kind Harold Hamersma. Characteristically described by Peter van Ammelrooy of De Volkskrant: “the Johan Cruijff of wine (but more kind), the Johannes van Dam of grapes (but a better writer), the Youp van ‘t Hek of vinologists (but even funnier)”.
Thrilled by the sight of paper, pens and typewriters Harold always knew he was going to be a writer so from the young age of thirteen he starts his first novel. After a long career in the advertising world, Harold finally combines his writing talent with his biggest passion: Wine.
He starts publishing about wine and winemaking back in 2003 on popular magazines like Esquire and to this day you can still read his work on magazines like Het Parool and NRC.
As passionate about his wardrobe as about wines, he carefully curates his well-thought collection of custom-made suits and jackets from the POSSEN Heritage collection.
As it comes to his style and outfits; Harold prefers a modest casual chic with an urbane twist. Check out Harold’s personal POSSEN collection.
