"The concept is already a huge success for men", says Bas Possen, owner of Possen.com. "We will copy this to a women's branch-store in the same street - the Van Baerlestreet in Amsterdam- right in front of our men's store."
At Possen.com the client is always right: you can put together your own garment, based upon model, color and fabric. The pattern book offers a range of 3000 fabrics. The computer shows the final result. The costume will fit perfectly due to the body scan. The designs are sent online to the workshop where the cutting process has been computerized. Tailors and seamstresses will put the clothes together. The costs can be reduced due to this fast process. "We offer made-to-measure clothes for the price of superior ready-to-wear clothes. A woman's made-to-measure suit costs three thousand guilders. We offer a woman's suit for half the price", says Possen.
The fact that the concept is a huge success for men does not necessarily mean that it will be a big success for women. "Men are convenience buyers; they love this concept. Women are experienced buyers; they want to live the entire process. The clothes are made-to-measure and can be put together by themselves, which it quite interesting for women."
Possen.com for women will be aimed at the business market: woman's suits and accessories. They plan on going casual. "I cannot tell you when this will come about. First we want to accomplish what we promise and improve logistics. The stores we want to open in Antwerp, Luxemburg, London and Frankfurt will follow shortly after", according to Possen.
