New Venture

The business case competition New Venture is an initiative of McKinsey & Company, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and De Baak Consultants. New Venture aims to stimulate entrepeneurship and the increase the possibilities for starting your own venture. In this competition candidate-entrepeneurs are challenged to turn their ideas into concrete business cases. A large group of experts from renown Dutch businesses will coach the participants with the development of their plans.

In 1999 Bas Possen sent his business case for his innovation in the fashion industry to New Venture and in the period 1999 – 2000 he enjoyed participating in the New Venture project. His coach responded enthusiastically to the worldwide innovation of Possen Fashion and with the feedback from the New Venture network Bas Possen could speed up the realization of his idea.

In June 2001 the New Venture organization published a book with a retrospection on three successful New Venture editions. In this book the numbers as well as the stories and visions of the participants and coaches. Also in this book a nice article about Possen Fashion and its innovative concept.
