Die Zeit
November 2002
Also in Germany the activities of Possen Made-to-Fit-Fashion are discussed, in this case the countries biggest newspaper; Die Zeit (www.zeit.de).
In a big article in this edition from the 2nd week of November 2002, the spectacular developments in Europe (body scanners, mass customization, innovative business processes) causing the democratization of tailormade fashion and the positive effects this causes for the Western-European fashion industry are extensively discussed. After all, made-to-order and made-to-measure with short delivery times means production in Europe and as such perhaps a piece of the 70 billion euros of textile imports for the (far) East can be conquered back, thus causing economic growth and employment in the European Union.
In the article Bas Possen speaks together with experts from Germany and Belgium about their vision on the sustainable trend of individualization and how the fashion industry effectively can respond to this. |
