We always start the new year with a visit to the fashion fair in Florence, Italy, the
Pitti Uomo. A soft winter sun and skies so blue we need our sunglasses. At night the aperitif on the heated terrace at the
Piazza della Republicca on our way to our
steak Fiorentina at the renowned
Buca Mario. A nightcap with our friends of
Loro Piana on one of the many nightly fashion parties,
by invitation only, here and there over town.
And of course long hours at the fashion fair itself, as always in the spectacular setting of the large Fortezza da Basso. Even more than admiring the new collections of the many fashion houses, for us this is a meeting place for keeping up with our contacts with designers, weavers, the buyers of Harrods and Selfridges and retailers from all over the world, amongst which good friends from Savile Row and this time Sydney, Moscow, Istanbul, New York and Zürich.
As you might understand, for us there is no better way to start the year and we wish you could have been there with us. Please find below some impressions:
