Unlike inferior products, the brass blazer buttons in the Possen Black and Sartoriale collections are alle made in England, by hand.
From the second half of the seventeenth century, brass blazer buttons were produced in the city of London for military and civilian wear. Nowadays they are made in Birmingham in the Midlands.
Each button is cut from solid brass, individually die stamped in the traditional way, and then rough buffed by hand in preparation for plating in either 9CT gold, silver, antique silver or bronze finishes. There are 19 individual processes involved in producing each button.
The majority of our buttons also feature enamel detail in one, two or three different colours. Actually this process is very similar to the cufflinks in the Possen Black collection.
Each enamelling is applied one at a time using a fine paintbrush, before being fired in a kiln at a very high temperature to ensure permanence. After cooling, the button is carefully inspected and the raised detail is burnished by hand.
Spring will arrive soon and to be prepared, make an appointment now for your new tailormade summer blazer with buttons from our gold collection.

How vintage can one get?!
We think this fantastic machine gets close to ultimate vintage. A Kreidler Van Veen 50GP that was shown to the public in 2007 at the Moto Arte Design in Milano as one if the 75 icons in the history of motorcycles.
Back in the eighties we fund a Kreidler just like this in the old neighbours barn under a thick layer of dust, roofing tiles, jute bags and other mess and after months of tinkering and polishing we managed to get it started again.
A quality machine, fantastic design and in full speed on small country roads the ultimate feeling of freedom.

We are not the biggest fan of Spyker cars. To our taste a bit too small, too much Batman and too much a toy for the racetracks. But aesthetically interesting and of course Dutch Design!
If you're fortunate enough to have a garage full of sports cars your next purchase must be a Silverstris Speedboat - the Spyker of the water, because originating from the Spyker-stables.
The devastatingly handsome 23-foot vessel that features all sorts of high tech gadgets and stylistic points that you expect from a superior sports car, from remote control hatched compartments to a sleek leather interior.
And a ferocious motor to be reckoned with. It's enough to make James Bond proud.

To promote their new nail polish, Rimmel literally tried to stop young women in their tracks by placing large eye catching sculptures outside nail polish retailers on high streets.
Clever, funny, and most important, successful.

Recently we had the opportunity to supply a group of entrepeneurs with new cut-to-the-bone tailormade suits and shirts in one of the futuristic conference areas in the new wing of the exbition centre 'Jaarbeurs' in Utrecht, the Media Plaze, designed by the award-winning design agency 123dv Architectuur & Consult from Rotterdam.
We heard a lot about the new Media Plaza and were impressed by the fantastic white and subtle use of colours with technical innovations.
The design emphasis is on various light sources and different projection methods. The new wing is accessible via two tunnels in which 123dv designed all surfaces to be canvases for projection, with floors and walls reacting to the movement of people.
For sure special enough to include in the Possen Lifestyle Collection ... why should it always be New York, HongKong, Barcelona, Tokyo or Abu Dhabi?

The National Library of France (BnF) has an amazing collection of prints from 1910 which depict life in the year 2000.
Of course our special attention goes to the vision on the future of the tailor and the bespoke suit.
And of course it is amazing how then it was expected that in the year 2000 measurements would be taken mechanically and then automatically interfaced to a production facility that in an automated process would manufacture the personalized made-to-order suit.
This is exactly the innovation that Possen Made-to-Fit Fashion launched world-first in the year 2000!!!
Possen was the first in the world to use bodyscanners for taking the measurements of its clients and also Possen developed state-of-the-art webbased supply chain logistics making production-on-demand of tailored suits just as effective and efficient as mass produced garments. With the result that high quality tailor-made fashion is available for everyone. Affordable and delivered in 1 to 3 weeks.
Today Possen succeeded in combining such revolutionary innovations successfully with the desired artisanal parts to come to the ultimate fashion item: unique and personal, with a perfect fit, affordable and a short delivery time.

We don't think there's a person left on this earth who isn't thrilled, glad and/or relieved to see the back of George Bush.
Which is why we laughed out loud when we bumped into this ad in the Australian newspaper, The Daily Telegraph today. Supermarket hair removal brand Veet joined in the loud chorus of 'goodbye and good riddens' and sold a few more tubes of hair removal cream at the same time. Brilliant.
No more Bush indeed ...
We just would like to add that very much unlike his predecessor, Mr. Obama knows how to dress. He has his suits perfectly tailored and custom made at Chicago's 121 year old Hartmarx.
His favourite is a 2-button in navy blue worsted-wool. Just recently he added 2 more suits in blue and three in gray, this time in a wool (97%) and cashmere (3%) quality, the pants classically pleated and cuffed.
If you are interested in an 'Obama-suit', we gladly show you our wool & cashmere collection by Loro Piana. Pick the navy blue one and have your tailor-made suit ready in a couple of weeks ...
