The hipness of Delft ware

The work of the architect Francine Houben and her agency Mecanoo Architects already impressed us before. With her plans for the city hall and Central Station of Delft she lays down another wonderful design.

Let’s hope that this beautiful proposal will not be put into cold storage because of political squabbling.

Francine Houben is one of the few female architects in her profession with a leading role the world. Famous project from her hand are the library of the Technical University Delft (1998), the Holy Mary of Angels Chapel in Rotterdam (2001), Montevideo in Rotterdam (2006) and FiftyTwoDegrees in Nijmegen (2007).

Meanwhile Francine is working on a master plan for 8.000 houses and 400.000 square metres of commercial and cultural facilities in Shenzhen, China.
